In this episode, Sameer visits his favorite Halal Chinese restaurant, Mas’ Chinese Islamic Restaurant in Anaheim, California. Sameer does not hesitate to dig in to eat one of his favorite dishes, Mongolian Beef. His dear friend, Napoleon (formerly of 2Pac’s Outlaws) joins him to try out this clean and friendly establishment.
Mas’ Islamic Chinese Restaurant has been part of the Orange County community for the last 30 years! It is very popular lunch eatery among many muslims and non-muslims that live and work in the area. Although Sameer was denied filming of the kitchen, he had a chance to have a sneak peek where he observed a clean kitchen and an assembly line of chefs working away! This explains the quick service and delicious food. Sameer had an opportunity to speak with owners Fatima Ma’ and Ali Ma’ where we are educated on their history.

This is the fifth incarnation of a string of Chinese Islamic restaurants that have been owned and operated by the Ma family (including Jamilla, Ibrahim, and Sofia). The very first one was near Alvarado and 8th, near the Vermont Islamic Center in LA. Serves cold cuts to hand made noodles and everything else in between.
